ABBE, the Awarding Body for the Built Environment and the market leader in energy assessment qualifications is sponsoring this year’s Energy Assessor Expo, the first national event for professionals working in the energy assessment industry.

The Energy Assessor Expo will be taking place at Birmingham’s ICC on 9th June. Over two thousand delegates have registered for the event, including facilities managers, domestic energy assessors, commercial energy assessors and assessors of Display Energy Certificates (DECs) plus trainees who may currently be studying for ABBE qualifications.

ABBE will be hosting the flagship stand at the event, giving out information on its range of awards including Diplomas in Domestic Energy Assessment, Non Domestic Energy Assessment and its newly launched Certificate in Fire Risk Assessment. Over 35 exhibitors are expected to attend; including ABBE approved assessment centres and accreditation bodies.

The event is the first dedicated show for the energy assessment community, and will feature a panel of guest speakers at the Great Debate, a question and answer session including ABBE Chief Executive Roger Bishop. Attendance at the event enables those working within the industry to find out more about the range of career paths available for energy assessors, experience new technologies and gain continuing professional development (CPD) points at a range of free workshops.

ABBE Chief Executive Roger Bishop said: “We’re delighted to support the Energy Assessor Expo, which has been created specifically for the energy assessment community.

“ABBE will be giving out information on its latest professional qualifications, and advice for candidates on completing their awards. We will also be able to explain how to make the most of building your career with ABBE qualifications. ABBE awards are the market leaders in energy assessment and have come to represent the gold standard for many in the profession.

“The Energy Assessor Expo will provide a great networking opportunity for people working within the industry too.”

Event Director Alex Taylor said: “We’re very pleased that ABBE is supporting the first dedicated Energy Assessor Expo. We’ve got a varied programme of events planned throughout the day, which will be of interest to a variety of property and energy assessment professionals.

“The energy assessment community is a growing and dynamic one, which has had to respond to numerous changes in legislation over the last two years. This event will showcase some of the main issues and give delegates the opportunity to find out about the key issues facing the industry.”

The Energy Assessor Expo is taking place on 9th June 2009 at Birmingham’s ICC, and will run from 8:30am to 5pm.
