Qualification Information

The purpose of the qualification is to provide a foundation in the essential knowledge and understanding required to progress in the roofing industry.

The qualification aims to develop a wider understanding and appreciate of the scope and depth of knowledge required to succeed across the industry.

Learners may already be working in the construction sector or already in roofing industry. This qualification is suitable for those working in contracting, manufacturing or supply.

The qualification has been developed to enable those working in roofing to take a qualification which recognises their current knowledge and gives them an opportunity to develop a broader knowledge base.

The qualification is designed to include aspects of the industry, including; structure, roof safety, legal and statutory responsibilities, finance, terminology and roof design, roof coverings, tendering, procurement, surveying and estimating, project management and sustainability.

Satisfactory completion of the qualification qualifies the delegate for Associate Level membership of the Institute of Roofing and access to further online learning and CPD.

Members of the Institute of Roofing holding an Associate Level or higher grade can apply for the Professionally Qualified Person CSCS Card.
