The purpose of the ABBE level 3 Certificate in Sectional Overhead & Roller Shutter Door: Basic Installation qualification is to provide the learner with a formal programme to understand the theory, practice, skills and methodology to be competent and confident in carrying out the basic installation of sectional overhead and roller shutter doors safely.
The qualification includes, Health and Safety requirements, why it is important to check openings and equipment before starting the installation, the sequence to install the doors, the problems that can arise during the installation and how to overcome those problems.
Basic commissioning of LOW VOLTAGE electrical equipment is included.
Though Fire Resistant Shutters are included as part of this this qualification, they are considered in the context of their basic differences compared to “standard” roller shutter doors. This qualification in no way represents a certificate in Fire Shutter Door installation/fault finding and repair.

PLEASE NOTE: This qualification does NOT include installation of fire shutters, nor does it include in-depth high voltage electrical installation, which should only be carried out by qualified electricians.
